East West nabs two Ovation Awards for LA Theatre

Newsflash for those of you who haven't already heard about East West!

"Due to the construction of the new theatre, only our premiere production, Pacific Overtures, made it for the running of the '98 Theatre LA Ovation Awards! Since we have made the transition to a mid-size theatre, we no longer compete in the small theatre category, but go up against the "big boys" - Center Theatre Group (Ahmanson, Mark Taper Forum), The Shubert, Pasadena Playhouse, etc. We garnered 7 nominations in 6 categories - Best Featured Actor & Actress (2) in a Musical; Best Choreography; Best Costume Design; Best Director of a Musical; & Best Musical - WE CAME THRU WITH TWO!!! - Best Costume Design - Naomi Yoshida Rodriguez & our beloved fearless leader for Best Director of a Musical - Tim Dang!!!!
