"Slant must be incapable of dullness...[they] seem inhabited by a single mischievous and merry spirit." - The New York Times

"Like a karate chop to the senses, the gift guys of Slant kick some comic ass on the stage of La Mama...With the help of guitars, drums and pop culture references, they conquer conception, Fu Manchu, sexual politics, the Union Pacific Railroad, the internment camps and more. This is a riotous show quivering with an energy that would make the Blue Man Group proud." - M. S. Time Out New York.

"Asian American experimental theater has never been the same since Slant burst on the scene with Big Dicks, Asian Men, their wildly popular in-your-face take on Asian masculinity."
Asian Week, San Francisco

The Slant Performance Group is a resident company of La Mama, E.T.C. (New York City). Slant is composed of Richard Ebihara, Wayland Quintero and Perry Yung, who have developed a body of performance art that redefines Asian masculinity and mocks sexual questions and derogatory stereotypes while holding Asian men up to the curious mirror of American pop culture.

Last year, they premiered their inaugural Big Dicks, Asian Men at La Mama E.T.C. in December 1995. Since then, Big Dicks has been reprised at La Mama in February and March 1996, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, recently presented by Pan Asian Repertory, as well as performances for the Public Theater, New York University, Movement Research, the Asian American Writers Workshop, and Hunter College.

Last season, Big Dicks, Asian Men found an unexpectedly enthusiastic reception among Asians and round-eyes alike. The Village Voice described it as "a pent-up explostion that is deftly calibrated. The big dicks unfurled are wit and individuality, dry humor and slapstick, dancer-buffed bodies and rock-and-roll hearts."

And, finally, SLANT is also joining the burgeoning college tour routine; college groups interested in bringing SLANT to their school can call the above number.
