AATC (SF) offers classes

To continue fostering new talent in Asian Pacific American arts, the Asian American Theater Company is offering the following classes for it's Winter Series:

Beginning Acting with Mitzie Abe
Scene Study with Diane Takei
Intermediate Playwrighting with Jeannie Barroga
Vocal Technique with Mitzie Abe

Classes are six-weeks and have a fee of $175 non-members/$150 AATC members. Please send your checks made payable to the Asian American Theater Company to the address below. Call for reservations and class location: Robynn (415) 440-5545.

Beginning Acting with Mitzie Abe. An introduction to the basics of acting through the exploration of the body, voice, mind, text and imagination. Mondays starting February 2, 6:30-9:30pm.

Scene Study with Diane Takei. Learn to forge a character utilizing the context of the scene, the relationship with other characters and the unique insight an actor brings to the process. Includes character study, scene analysis, and dialogue. Students should bring the script they wish to work on to the first class. Saturdays starting January 24, 1-4pm.

Intermediate Playwrighting with Jeannie Barroga. Help shape working drafts in a creative and nurturing atmosphere. Re-examine writing tools and crafts. Instructor encourages class interaction besides offering individual comments. Saturdays starting January 10, noon-3pm. (meets every other week after January 17)

Vocal Technique with Mitzie Abe. Realize the potential of the actor's most important tool: the voice. Learn breathing techniques, how to use the voice theatrically, and working with your script. Sundays starting February 1, 1-4pm.Classes are six-weeks and have a fee of $175 non-members/$150 AATC members.
