News from AATC
(SF)
Due to a kind donation made by the Whole
Earth Network, we are changing our e-mail address from aatc@juno.com to
aatc@wenet.net. We also have a new website at http://www.wenet.net/~aatc.
It's still under construction, but should be up by the end of the month.
Volunteers: we are always looking for volunteers for productions, office
help, and ESPECIALLY for our Friday night Bingo fundraiser. If anyone is
available on September 19 from 6-1Opm, we would greatly appreciate your
help at Bingo. Aside from grant money this is the only income we have when
we're not in production. Call Robynn at (415) 440-5545 to volunteer.
In other news, our Fall classes will be starting soon. It is our goal to
integrate the scripts generated from the playwrighting classes and the actors
developing in the acting classes into AATC's 97-98 season. The six week
classes are 3 hours as day and cost $150. Please call MTC at (415) 440-5545
to reserve your spot and for more information.
Our 6 week playwrighting workshop taught by Jeannie Barroga encourages and
helps shape working drafts by playwrights in a creative and nurturing atmosphere.
Writing tools are crafts are reexamined, and writers receive specific assignments.
Classes begin September 27 and run through November 8 from 14 at the MTC
offce.
We will be offering a playwrighting weekend workshop in November taught
by Euginie Chan. This class is designed to generate bold new plays through
explorations in time, space, and action and will be taught on a Friday evening,
and Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The dates are TBA.
Finally, our six week acting classes taught by Judi Nihei will start up
in October. This is an introduction to the basics of acting through the
exploration of the body, voice, mind, text and imagination. Dates are TBA.
Feel free to correspond with us via e-mail and please spread the word about
volunteering opportunities and our classes. Thanks!Insert
