Cast changes to Golden Child

There have been some last minute changes to the cast for David Henry Hwang's new show, Golden Child. Previously, it was reported that Ming-Na Wen (Joy Luck Club, One Night Stand and The Single Guy) will play Second Wife. That WAS true up until today. Now, Ming-Na will be playing Third Wife and Second will be Kim Miyori (St. Elsewhere). (The former Third Wife,Liana Pai, dropped out due to a movie conflict). Also for the record, Broadway veteran John Horton will be replacing John Christopher Jones as the Reverend Baines. So the only "original" members of the new GC cast are Tsai Chin and Julyanna Soelistyo.

Also, contrary to what was reported in the 12/5/97 edition of the NY Times, the playdates are Singapore Repertory Theatre, Singapore
January 9 to 25, 1998; ACT, San Francisco,February 13 to March 15, 1998; Broadway (tentatively set for the Longacre Theatre)
Previews beginning March 25, opening approx. April 2.
