To the Philipines with Ma-Yi Theatre

Ma-Yi Theatre has been invited to participate in the Philippine Centennial Arts Festival to be held at the Cultural Center in Manila, Philippines from June 1 to June 14, 1998. Among the groups participating are The New York Philharmonic with Kurt Masur, The David Glass Company of London, and a collaboration of ASEAN artists, as well as hundreds of local companies. The Philippines celebrates 100 Years of independence this year.

Ma-Yi Theatre will bring its acclaimed production of FLIPZOIDS, which garnered Ching Valdes her first OBIE Award last year. The cast will also feature Ken Leung and Mia Katigbak. Loy Arcenas will design and direct the play. Other company members include Blake Burba (Lighting), and Fabian Obispo(Music).

Ma-Yi Theatre's participation is made possible by the Asian Cultural Council, and Arts International Festival Fund for U.S. Artists.
