Asian Americans score at Oscars!

That big scream of triumph you may have heard on Oscar night was the yelling to support Chris Tashima, Tim Toyama, Cedar Grove Productions, Chris Donahue and Visual Communications, the people behind Visas and Virtues, which won an Oscar for best live action short! (Check out the web site!).

As you know (or would have, if you read the story the Revue ran when the flick was nominated), this film was based on a play written by Tim Toyama and developed at East West's David Henry Hwang Playwrighting Institute. The folks at Cedar Grove are more than happy to accept congratulations at (213) 668-1018; right now, the film is playing at Cleveland's International Film Festival as the crew is getting engagements set up for New York.

And damn! Didn't Chris look sharp on stage!

LATE BREAKING STUFF!

Visas and Virtue is playing at a special screening this weekend in Los Angeles:
Saturday and Sunday, March 28 & March 29, 10 a.m and 11 a.m. both days at Laemmle's Sunset 5 (corner of Sunset and Crescent Heights)
