Rosie and her friends are back on Powell Street - the pre-war home of Vancouver's Japanese Canadian community. Their bittersweet story flashes between the struggle in the 1950s to re-build their lives after their wartime internment and the fight for redress that begins in the early 80s -in a city now characterized by cultural diversity and Asian influences.

This musical features a cast of six Asian Canadian actors and singers - and it is the first of its kind by a Japanese Canadian composer. Waylen A. Miki is a yonsei (4th generation Japanese Canadian).
