The Slant Performance Group, creators of Big Dicks, Asian Men, premieres Squeal Like a Pig, An Intergalactic PopOperatta, January 2-18, 1998 at the La Mama Theater, 74-A East 4th Street, between 2nd Avenue and the Bowery, New York City.

In this new musical satire, the men of Slant are transformed into three otherwordly, non-english speaking subhumanoids, who have immigrated to this new world via the crash-landing of their percussion-driven chariot in the border zone between Mexico and Texas. Follow the three alien characters as they wobble forward on their journey through border patrols, celebrity wanna-be con artists, sex-deprived cops, false messiahs, late-adult cable channels, and much more!

This original musical circus tale is told through live musical vignettes, comedic scenes, and butoh-inspired balletic trance dances, as only Slant can, in their unique performance style. Having previewed three sections at the Hit & Run Festival at Dance Theater Workshop on October 1st to an ecstatic audience, Squeal Like a Pig promises to be a New Year's feast for the eyes, ears, and heart and a sure cure for those with post-holiday season blues. In the meantime, Slant will be performing at the University of Pennsylvania Asian Heritage Week festivities on October 29.

Following this, join in on the big fundraiser for Slant on November 21st, 6:30-10:00 PM at the Taipei Theater and Cultural Center, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, between 48th and 49th Streets, in the McGraw-Hill building, lower level, Rockefeller Center, New York City. Cocktails and hors d'oevres will be served followed by a performance by Slant. The cost is $45 per person at least a week in advance, $50 at the door, and $40 per person for groups of 10 or more.
