SLANT Opens 1998 with new show

The Slant Performance Group will be world premiering its brand new show- "Squeal Like a Pig, an Intergalactic PopOperetta," at the La Mama First Floor Theater, January 1st-18th, 1998.

In this new musical satire production, the three men of Slant are transformed into white-faced mystic beings from another galaxy who crash land in the border area between Texas and Mexico. Follow the journey of each alien as they bravely go out into this strange new world seeking a better life, new opportunities, and even a fancier hairdo. Watch and laugh as the new aliens encounter an assortment of far-out earthlycon-artists such as an inebriated Hawaiian surf guru, a Billy Graham wanna-be mid-western preacher, an accent elimination teacher from the south, an urban S&M dual-gender mistress, and much more!

Will the three aliens fit in or will they return from where they came? We invite you to come over to La Mama to see "Squeal Like a Pig."

As in Slant's two previous hits- "Big Dicks, Asian Men" and "The Second Coming," this new show promises to knock your socks off through Slant's unique and original style of live performance- airborne choreography, physical comedic scenes, shadow puppetry, and live music played on electric guitar, drums, percussion, bass, and flute.

Please call the La Mama box office at (212) 475-7710 for reservations, Monday through Saturday between 12 noon and 10:00 PM. La Mama is located at 74-A East 4th Street between 2nd avenue and the Bowery in the east village.
