KWATZ! is the exclamatory cry in Buddhist tradition which means an "awakening". Dorje, a Tibetan immigrant, is randomly attacked with a hammer, and in a comatose state, journeys to the astral realm of truth and illusion spanning the years 1990's New York to 1940's Tibet. Created characters join historical figures such as the 10th Panchen Lama, Drukpa Kunley (15th Century Tibetan Wise Man), and Ngapo Ngawang Jigme who enact political and historical injustices, and in Dorje's poetic madness, force him to confront his indifference to life and hope for salvation. KWATZ! will incorporate musical sounds on Tibetan instruments and movement.

Tickets: $15 ~ $40
