AATC presents a new play reading

A PACKAGE FOR MR. HARTELA: A TALL TALE IN THREE ACTS
by NOEL BENOZA

San Francisco's Asian American Theater Company presents a reading of A Package for Mr. Hartela: A Tall Tale in Three Acts by Noel Benoza on February 8th, 1999 at JCCCNC at 1840 Sutter Street in San Francisco.

Benoza's A Package for Mr. Hartela: A Tall Tale in Three Acts spins a modern fable of filial obligations, casinos and mob ties. Nino Maguyan is a burned out artist, engrossed with violence and doom. Honoring his sick father's request, Nino, his ex-wife, his sister and her boyfriend, drive his father from San Francisco to Las Vegas to deliver a package to an aging Casino entertainer suspected of mob ties.

Noel Benoza has been previously involved with the Asian American Theater Company performing in AATC productions of S.A.M I Am, Yellow Fever, The Chickencoop Chinaman, Passion, and Family Devotions (as an understudy). He has also performed with Thick Description on Blade to the Heat. The Rainbow Theater Company, Art Street Theater and Campo Santo are among the local theater companies he has worked with. Benoza's Right Between the Eyes was produced in a workshop performance with Asiantics this last October.

Actors slated to participate in this reading of A Package for Mr. Hartela: A Tall Tale in Three Acts are: Harold S. Byun, Melinda Corazon-Foley, Howard Fong, Robert Karimi, Lane Nishikawa, Joan Osato, Frank Torrano and Pearl Wong.
