NWAAT celebrates 25 years June 12

The Northwest Asian American Theatre, celebrating 25 years of groundbreaking theatre, will be serving a 9 course dinner at Loong Foong Restaurant (1207 So. Jackson Street, 2nd Floor, near Seattle's International District) as well as great performances and a vision for the 21st century on Friday June 12th. Tickets are $55 each including taxand tip.

The dinner will include an excerpt from the original cast of Marginal Man which was the first theatrical performance of the group that formed NWAAT, plus previews of the upcoming season. There will also be an introduction of new Artistic Director Chil Kong and his staff who will present a renewed mission statement, a five year plan, preparations for the first national Asian American Theatre conference in Seattle for 1999, and an expanded artistic program beginning with the 1998-99 season.

With audience support and contributions, NWAAT has accomplished a great deal in twenty five years. With over 50 productions and festivals, NWAAT has grown to an internationally known theatrical institution that speaks with a distinct Asian voice. It has grown from a small group of 7 people known as the Asian Multi Media into a professional theatre company that produces more than five shows a year and has garnered national and international critical acclaim.
