Who's Who Among the Pork Filled Players:

Roger Tang (producer)
is a theatre veteran of two decades, and began his career as a designer for David Henry Hwang and Philip Kan Gotanda. He produced the Northwest premieres of Gotanda’s Dream of Kitamura, Genny Lim’s Paper Angels and Hwang’s Bondage. He has taught Asian American history at the University of Washington and was instrumental in building the Theatre Off Jackson. Called the “Godfather of Asian American theatre” by A. Magazine, he sits on the board at Repertory Actors Theatre, edits the Asian American Theatre Revue and administers the aa-drama mailing list.

David Kobayashi
is a long time veteran of the Seattle Asian American theatre scene. A singer, songwriter, playwright and actor, David has appeared in numerous productions at the Northwest Asian American Theatre. As well, he is the founder and producer of two other Asian American comedy groups, 11:07 Late Night and OPM. He is a co-producer of the China-town/International District Summer Festival, does live sound production and finds time in his schedule to do engineering.

Cyndie Mastel-Rokicki (director)
is back directing after a short hiatus. Many thanks to her husband and mother for encouraging her to jump back into things. She is a graduate of NYU and Circle in the Square Theatre. She has been directing in the Seattle area for the past eight years. Some of her credits include episodes of The Twilight Zone for Theatre Schmeatre, the West Coast premiere of Bondage by David Henry Hwang for PC Theatre and Gold Watch for the Northwest Asian American Theatre.

Wendy Chinn
is a native of the Columbia City area of Seattle. She is a graduate of Franklin High School and the University of Washington where she competed on the UW Women’s Varsity Crew. Her background in theatre began at Franklin High where she acted, sang, danced and choreographed for many seasons. Her professional debut in musical theatre choreography began at the age of 18 and has recently completed a theatre intensive at Freehold. She is currently the director of choreography for an Everett Theatre Company for their upcoming spring musical. Wendy’s performance and choreography background also includes national aerobic, fitness and body building competitions, where she has received gold, silver and bronze medals. She is currently a certified personal trainer, indoor cycling and kickboxing instructor.

Ed Tonai
began his acting career at age 8, in the inaugural season of the internationally syndicated, emmy-award winning television series The Baseball Bunch (which is about the time Ichiro picked up baseball in Japan). He peaked mid-season and was cut before season two, leading to depression and drugs. Clean and sober now, he’s ready to make his comeback with the Pork Filled Players.
