Nobuko Miyamoto, Chris Iijima and Charlie Chin reunite to sing early classics of the Asian American movement for social change. Their album A Grain of Sand was a landmark recording that captured the spiritof protest and resistance of the '70s.

Miyamoto, Iijima and Chin recorded the seminal Asian American album, A Grain of Sand in 1973. They wanted to document the songs which grew out of their involvement in the Asian American movement, the music they shared with many communities during their 3 years performing together. Their music played an integral role in the burgeoning Asian American Movement of the time. Their songs became anthems because the lyrics captured the heart and soul of those working for social and political change. Their music brought the struggles of the Asian peoples closer to home and played an important role in helping to forge unity among people of color.

The trio will perform original songs from the '70s that are as meaningful now, as they were then. Their recent reunion concert in Berkeley in October proved their voices and music still strong and relevant. With humor and passion they share stories of their experiences, passing wisdom to a new generation.
