"COCK HEALER is a buoyant romp through the outer limits of performer Rebecca Torosian's real-life 17 years of experience as sex surrogate therapist, bachelor party stripper, and sensual massage healer. It is a one-woman performance Xtravaganza- an edgy stand-up satire, live music and dance fest, that celebrates the power and grace of woman. It is a performance that will shake up hard-core feminists and their conservative sisters alike, and is guaranteed to drive the dog out of any man. COCK HEALER is the missing link between goddess and slut."

East West Players (LA)
Pointless
by Alec Mapa
December 2 to 12, 1999

East West Players, the first and foremost Asian Pacific American theatre in the country, presents a special engagement of Alec Mapa's latest one-man show Pointless at the David Henry Hwang Theater at the Union Center for the Arts. The theater is located at 120 North Judge John Aiso Street (formerly San Pedro Street) in Little Tokyo downtown Los Angeles. Directed by Chay Yew, Pointless runs for two weeks, opening on Thursday, December 2 and closing on Sunday, December 12, 1999. Pointless is presented in collaboration with Mark Taper Forum's Asian Theatre Workshop.

Pointless is a hilarious and outrageous performance by Alec Mapa. Come spend the evening with the award-winning actor/performer as he takes to the stage and rants about his favorite four-letter word: love. In the direct fire of Cupid's many arrows, he also discusses the issues of the day, dishes celebrities and talks about his favorite subject: himself.

Alec Mapa is an award-winning actor, writer, and performance artist. His one-man show I Remember Mapa has played to sold-out houses in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, San Antonio, Toronto, and Montreal. I Remember Mapa won the 1997 L.A. Weekly Award for Best Solo performance and has been published by Grove Atlantic in the anthology O Solo Homo: The New Queer Performance.

Performances for Pointless are Thursday through Sunday evenings, Dec. 2 thru Dec. 12 at 8pm.

Ticket prices are $25.00 for opening night, Thursday, Dec. 2 at 8pm (includes a hosted bar)
$10.00 for EWP 1999-2000 Season Subscribers
$15.00 for general admission.

Patrons can purchase tickets by calling East West Players at 213-625-7000, Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm. All tickets are general seating and will be held at Will Call. Tickets must be pre-paid and are subject to availability.

Pointless is sponsored in part by Anheuser Busch/Budweiesr and Seagram Americas/Chivas Regal.
