New show for Stir Friday Night!

Stir-Friday Night!, Chicago's premier Asian-American Comedy Theater, launches its new production February 2nd at the Phoenix Ascending Theater. The show, Stir-Friday Night! Flakes: Now Fortified with Indians is designed to be both funny and thought provoking. It is directed by SFN! ensemble member Joe Yau.

"Were excited about the new show," Yau said. "After a year of touring, it is great to come back to Chicago and create a unique piece."

The shows title is inspired by the addition of two new cast members, Rasika Mathur of Houston, and Ranjit Souri of Cleveland. Yau credits them with giving the group a new and fresh perspective.

"Their contributions have been tremendous to the writing and energy of the group. The ensemble has grown tremendously in creating this production. We've challenged ourselves to bring out a new dimension beyond our usual brand of comedy. Many of the scenes in this show are re-creations of universal life experiences."

Rounding out the rest of the show are ensemble members Daisy Castro, Wayne Eji, Choky Lim, Jennifer Liu, Ron Mok, and Michael Stevenson on tech.

Stir-Friday Night! Flakes: Now Fortified with Indians runs from February 2nd - February 25th, at the Phoenix Ascending Theatre, 4227 N. Lincoln, Friday and Saturday nights at 8PM, and Sundays at 3PM. Tickets are $15 dollars general and $10 for students with a valid ID. Reservations are strongly recommended.
